Pride Whanganui Trust

All lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, takatāpui, queer, intersex, gender or sexual minority (LGBTTQI+/Pride/Rainbow) people in Whanganui have a sense of belonging and safety in their community.

To provide support, resources, information and advocacy for the Whanganui LGBTTQI+ Communities – including their friends, whanau, schools, employers and other associated communities.

Pride Whanganui Trust was founded by Christina Emery (who remains our current chairperson of the Trust) in 2018, and became a registered charity in 2019 (CC57420).

Pride Whanganui is now run by our manager Zenica Mann, along with the support of the Trustees and our incredible team of volunteers.

Our History

Pride Whanganui was formed in 2018 by three passionate individuals who wanted to give visibility to the local Rainbow Community. What started as resources in a living room and a one-day Pride Week, has grown to the organisation we have today.
